Senior's on a fixed income may own their own home, but can have a hard time financially, maintaining it.  In an emergency situations and if time permits, European American Association (EAA) staff or volunteers may performs minor home repair for low-income seniors who live in the Chicago area.  Some of these emergency jobs may include

  • Trimming Unsafe or Broken Tree Branches

  • Minor Yard Work

  • Replace Broken Windows or Board up

  • Minor Roof Leaking

  • Cleaning Clogged Gutters

  • Adjust Doors Which Close Improperly and if necessary install weather striping to conserve energy

  • Opening Clogged Sewer Drains

  • Fix or Install Stair Railing

These services are free of labor charge, and are limited to minor repairs.  If major work would have to be done EAA works with many trustworthy, qualified contractors and would be happy to recommend some for you to interview.
